mike scarff subaru commercial "latte stand"

The thirty second commercial "Latte Stand" pokes fun at traditional car dealers by posing the question "What if you had to buy everything the way you buy a car?" In the spot, a woman (played by Albuquerque actress Annitra Atler) tries to buy a latte at a coffee shop, but is thwarted by the hard-sell tactics of the barista (Los Angeles comedian Paul Wagner). The spot will run in the Seattle area starting in January 2008.

Writer/director Randy Nargi teamed up with Albuquerque-based production company halflife digital to create the spot.

"The quality that halflife brought to the project was incredible. I was looking for national-caliber production values and halflife really delivered. Plus their collaborative attitude and creative ideas were invaluable in making this commercial a success."

Director of Photography David Garcia used halflife's Panasonic HPX500 camera, outfitted with a Pro 35 and Zeiss super speed lenses for the look of 35mm film with High Definition digital cinematography.
